GANGSTER PUMP VIDEOS!
Wonder Why? - Plastique - Piels Look for more videos in the future!Coming from the remnants of the band Love Muscle, Jeremy, Vince, Jeff, and Dennis added K.C. on vocals and John on lead guitar at the beginning of 1992. The band played a few leftover Love Muscle shows playing old punk covers like Black Flag's "Rise Above", The Germs' "Manimal", the Cro-Mags' "Hard Times", Fear's "I Don't Care About You" & "Living In The City", and many others. At these shows, the band used "Psandwich" as their name. After throwing a few names around, they all decided on the name 'Gangster Pump'. Quickly writing some original songs at the same time, the band was able to incorporate them into their sets. They recorded 3 songs & used a 4th one from a live recording and released "Where's Our Deli Tray?" on cassette.
Through 1992 and 1993, Gangster Pump had two number 1 requested songs from Radio Libertaire out of Paris, France for 8 months; "Plastique" from their first recording "Where's Our Deli Tray?" and "Love?" from an unreleased recording.
During the summer of 1993, the band toured the southern U.S., playing regularly in Richmond, VA, Norfolk, VA, Charlotte, NC, Wilmington, NC, Kill Devil Hills, NC, and Atlanta, GA.
In 1994 Gangster Pump started recording their first CD. Near the end of the recording, Vince unfortunately left the band and Dave stepped in on bass. The CD, titled "freedom from the anger", was finally completed and released.
Gangster Pump's live shows were filled with high, intense energy and you were always in for a surprise. Some special events had been two appearances of "Candy Apple" (a 350-pound stripper), a magician, band poetry reading, a break dancing exhibition, costume night, and give-a-ways of such items as adult contemporary records, canned dog food and vegetables, used working boots, free haircuts, and unique adult magazines.
They've played with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones in Wilmington, NC at the Mad Monk, Clutch and Monster Magnet at CBGB's in New York City, and with Clutch again in Wilmington, DE at the D.Y.P.A. hall. They had played at the Mid-Atlantic Sound, Surf, and Skate Symposium (MASSS) in Wilmington, NC 1996, making an incredible impression that they were asked to return and play again in 1997.
And an interesting note, Gangster Pump had an article appear in the December 1996 issue of Swank's D-Cups Magazine . They also released 2 CD's, "freedom from the anger" (1994) and "Los Huevones at the Circle G Ranch" (1996). The band was in the middle of recording their third CD when they mysteriously disbanded in the summer of 2000...
