Fingerprint is a rock band based in christchurch, the five friends are braught together by two common interests, making music and drinking too much. We've been together for about a year and have had a great introduction to the music industry. Our sound is heavily based around what each person from the band enjoys from their favorite style of music, influences running from old school rock, hard core punk to folk and blues give each element of our music a new and energetic feel.
We do our best to play as many gigs around the country as we can, so far at; Hysteria bar in auckland, The Kings Arms, Revolver in queenstown and Refuel in dunedin.
We have also played some great gigs at Canterbury uni to hundreds of people at the local university bbqs and events, always good fun! Especially playing with some of the diverse musical tallent represented by the other uni bands around the place.
On top of that we do our best to play around christchurch to build up a base of fans.
University has given us some great opportunities to play with lots of profesional musicians and get a taste for the big time. Our biggest gig to date was opening for Elemeno P and The Heavy Jones Trio at our orientation week at Canterbury uni.
On top of this Nashville pussy at the esplande on their last world Tour was a great night and we got to play alongside a real international act which was awesome. Along with Elemeno P we have also played with Stylus and Cold by Winter, Luck Band and 5 Star Fallout.
Presently we are looking foward to playing The Stien end of lectures party which we were lucky enough to be asked to play as a prize for winning the UC battle of the bands.
Our music is best described as alternative rock consisting of some up beat songs with some edgy guitar skills and some and energetic drumming all combined with some sharp vocals. As each of the members stems from different types of musical background, it has allowed fingerprint to create something different and diverse.
Fingerprint recently went into soundwaves studios to have another shot at getting some recordings down, and this time came away with great results which surpased our expextations, many thanks to the boys at soundwaves... we will be back! On the given budget we could not have asked for anything more.With the new e.p under our belt we're now moving foward going on a quick stint around the south island for a wee e.p. release tour. So far so good.
