Teine are an all girl band based on the Isle of Lewis. They formed whilst all students at the Nicolson Institute. The group competed at various Mods, winning at local and national level (Stornoway and Perth 2004). They featured on the opening nights of the Hebridean Celtic Festival in
2004 and 2005 and consequently were invited to play at Celtic Fusion in Newcastle, Ireland. The girls have also performed at Danny Kyles Open Stage, Celtic Connections in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in 2005 and represented the Western Isles in Orkney in May 2005 at the 30th Anniversary celebrations of the Islands Councils. They have also entertained in village halls and at local ceilidhs.
Teine, keen to record this CD before setting off for College and University, fully intend to stay together in the future. LÃ n Tighe Chaileagan certainly guarantees that more exciting things are to come from this promising Hebridean quartet.
