About Me

I am London born, south London.I Moved to the east-end at the age of 20, looking for independents. My career started at the tender age of 14, becoming awear of my black side. I had never thought about colour, I knew I was different, having an Irish mother as white as snow and my father African as black as the night. Could i be the stars? Not quite sure where I belong, set out to find myself. The white side was easy; my mother having a strong influences. The black side was a little harder, not really knowing my father; parents broke up after a cot death, no black roll model to turn to I was on my own. First things first the hair. At that tender age when one is very concusses of ones appearance off I went to the hairdressers. My career was about to unfold. Modern surrounding loud music young people dressed in outrageous clothes and a buzz of energy, that’s what I wanted to do become a hairdresser, even though they knew no more then I did about my hair. I became a Saturday girl, worked my way up to a styles. went on to do session work where I came in contact with make-up artist. They would give me tips about make-up I would help them with hair. It was great. 25 years later, I am now a freelance hair and make-up artist. I love my work with the same energy and excitement as I did when I was 16. I have worked in fashion, editorial, music, TV, film and can honestly say the journey as been fantastic. A lot of the people skills I have leant through work enable me to have an empathy with people. There are so many people that have assumed important roles in my life. with out them i might not have become the beautiful soul i am.THE ARTIST IS THE CREATOR of beautiful things. To reveal art and conceal the artist is art's aim.-- OSCAR WILDE ..
