About Me

Hip-hop is all about stories and struggles, failures and success. The music becomes as real as the artist telling the story and the message comes across that much more intense. Without guidance or support from the music industry, Blest’s music is still reaching audiences and turning heads while still perfecting his craft. Blest, born Adolfo Ochoa, is an artist who refuses to retreat or surrender to the constant pressure of being a Mexican rapper who does not sound like your typical “Mexican rapper”. He is a man of the streets, a man who was raised to learn the code and secrets of the cut throat business of drug trafficking, but still, Blest, a very intelligent and business oriented man, holds himself above the despair and pettiness which surrounds him. Despite all the odds stacked against him, and the hard times of fighting an entire industry alone, Blest will continue his conquest of the music industry with relentlessness and determination, until it becomes clear that Blest has what it takes to reach the top.Born in El Paso, TX, in the early 80’s and raised in a dysfunctional family, Blest learned at an early age to stand alone. Abandon by his father who was involved in the Juarez Cartel, and betrayed by his mother, Blest found a safe home with his grandparents after a vicious beating inflicted by his step father. At 18 years old, Blest began his music career after deciding he no longer wanted to continue with the lifestyle of a drug dealer. Moving back into his mother’s house to help care for his siblings, Blest was once again pulled back into the world of drugs to help pay the bills. Determined not to fall into the trappings of poverty, Blest pursued his music career and began to record demos and selling them on the streets. Within one month Blest sold over 500 demos and began to make a name for himself in the local scene. After releasing his first album “What I Say” in late 2006, Blest began to aggressively move units in El Paso, selling over 2000 copies with the help of his local tour “The 915 Obscenity Tour”, and getting radio play on Clear Channel’s Power 102, Blest was breaking new ground and raising the bar. After losing the opening spot for Fat Joe to rival local artists, Blest organized and promoted the biggest show case a single local artist has done in El Paso, bringing in over 1000 people, and putting Blest in a league all his own.Blest's new album, "PATIENTLY WAITING", is driven by the determination for a new success and a wider audience. The idea of bringing a distinct style along with an innovative business approach is a refreshing break from the cold and anti-fan machine which is the music industry. With aggressive marketing strategies and personal attention to business relationships and fans, Blest’s newest album will undoubtedly set the stage for a new chapter in music.©2008 Ground Sound Entertainment
