About Me

Peter Reardon-Anderson is a native of Bethesda, MD, playing clarinet and saxophone since the age of 9. While still in High School, he was been a member of the Clifford Brown/Stan Getz Fellows, a resident of Jazz Aspen Summer Sessions, Dave Brubeck Summer Colony, a 2-time contestant in the Fish Middleton Scholarship competition, and has been a Downbeat Magazine outstanding soloist. Peter has performed at such venues in New York as The Blue Note, Birdland, Carnegie Hall, and internationally at London's 100 Club, the Montreal Jazz Festival, Scotland, Japan, and the Middle East. He has studied with Barry Harris, Frank Wess, and Chris Byars. He has played in bands led by Jimmy Heath, Valery Ponamarev, Teddy Charles, Arturo O'Farrill, and the with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. He currently studies at the Juilliard School's Jazz Program. Recently, Peter has been selected for the 2009 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. On the clarinet, Peter studies at Juilliard with Alan Kay, and has performed with the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, and the Lawyers Orchestra. Peter co-leads a quintet with his twin brother and alto saxophonist, Will, that has performed at New York's Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Smalls, Fat Cat, Cleopatra's Needle, DC's Blues Alley, Twins Jazz, and Baltimore's Haven Lounge.
