Closet Trekkie Records hopes to release music. There are certain kinds of music you will find us putting out, and there are certain kinds that you will not. On our label you will find the sensible indie-pop of The Westfield Mining Disaster, the far out goodness of The Mystery Lights, the gritty gutter rock of Tractor Flip, and the quietly devastating melodies of Arms and Legs.
THE MYSTERY LIGHTS - "Teenage Catgirls and the Mystery Lightshow"
ARMS AND LEGS - "NOTHING EVER WAS"
Listen to mp3's here or at www.closettrekkie.com or iTunes:
ARMS AND LEGS - "S/T"
"Low key folk ballads that evolve out of late 1960s folk pop with a clear nod to Arlo in Dreamers Do, a less definite glance back to some of the sweeter George Harrison ditties, and a something in the vocals that evokes a bit of Elliott Smith as well." -IndieDisco.com
“…the songs are mature and gorgeous, the sign of a burgeoning talent just beginning to feel out his territory… There’s a particularly odd warbling quality about Daly’s voice, but it is unique, and makes these songs all his own.” -Doug Mosurak Dusted Magazine
“Once again, we marvel at how just a Joe with an acoustic, a sincere voice, and a way with strings can produce music that speaks so much louder.” -Jack Rabid The Big Take-Over
"The record is full of Smith-esque tracks ("Bars All Closed", "Alice"), an easy reference point for sure, but hardly the only one to be found. Daly has also clearly digested his Zombies ("Little Things", "Lye Around") and Death Cab ("Hangin' on a Moment") records, penning songs that would make even a well-seasoned singer/songwriter proud. That it's his first record only makes it all the more impressive." - Chad, everybodycares.blogspot.com
