Welcome to the humble abode of Red Eskimo.
We are a music production company specialising in music to picture in its myriad forms. Red Eskimo is a collection of talented musicians, composers, producers and engineers, some permanent fixtures, others in more of a cameo role, but all with a common goal; to make great sounding music. Our home is within the confines of Phoenix Sound , a particularly fine recording studio now residing at Pinewood Studios.
We don’t however restrict ourselves to the world of the underscore. Many of our contributors have worked with the great and good of the record making glitterati and our influences in the records we make have a strong effect on the music we write for other purposes.
We have set out on this narrow path, perilously clinging to two pillars of truth:
Firstly, real musicians sound better than samples. Hopefully you'll agree that the life in our music reflects the blood flowing through the veins of the people that made the noises. Not that we're adverse to some fine quality programming of course (some of us have very square eyes), but there will pretty much always be some organic matter on the end of an instrument/tea-tray in what we create.
And secondly, music is better if the people making it also happen to like it. There's nothing worse than music as wallpaper, hastily slapped up to cover the cracks. We always try to make something that is enjoyable in its own right. Not necessarily to draw attention to itself, but to respectfully complement the work it is a part of.
