I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Well, my creative impulses have gotten the best of me. I switched tracks from journalism to graphic design a few years ago. Graduated from Pratt Institute in NYC this summer with a master's in communications design, and just moved to Boston, where I'll be working off all those student loans. =) Love this great city and the people here, though. Still pursuing my passion for dancing in my spare time, and am becoming a rather accomplished Argentine tango dancer, keeping up with the latin ballroom on the side. Living at MIT, where my dear boyfriend is pursuing his PhD. Am becoming very jealous of all the time he's spending with his books! But life is good... love is good... friendships grow deeper like wine... and the dance goes on, as I improvise...
Note: Please don't send me "friend requests" if you've never actually spoken/written to me. I consider knowing you fundamental to being your friend. =)

My Interests

Graphic design, illustration, writing, piano, fitness, travel, Native American history, photography, ballroom dancing, Argentine tango, astronomy (not astrology!), reading, modeling, theater, international affairs, boating, animals, the beach, environmental issues.

I'd like to meet:

Any good-hearted people will do.

Music:

Random selections from my iPod: Sting, AC/DC, Guns n Roses, James Brown, Aerosmith, Buena Vista Social Club, Elvis, Charlie Haden, Queen, Prince, White Snake, Zeppelin, Marley, Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Velvet Revolver, RHCP, Seal, a smattering of classical... there's no pattern here.

Movies:

The Usual Suspects, Oceans Eleven, Dead Poets Society, Fight Club, Legends of the Fall, The Princess Bride, The Birdcage, Scent of a Woman, Braveheart, Benny and Joon, Space Balls, Forrest Gump, Top Gun, Pulp Fiction, Disney's Tarzan, The Pianist, Donnie Darko, Thelma and Louise, Memento... huh, no pattern here either.

Television:

Don't watch much, but I do love Late Night shows. Conan's my favorite. SNL is great, too. "More cowbell!!!" I'm also pretty fond of the Discovery channel and Animal Planet.

Books:

Cormac McCarthy's border trilogy, Great Expectations, anything by Hemingway, The Catcher in the Rye, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Odyssey, anything by James Joyce, Dune, anything by Poe, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, God and the New Physics, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, my college astronomy textbook... that's a fair start.

Heroes:

My big brother, my boyfriend, my dear friends, and our armed forces are my top four.
