King AP is a reggae soundsystem (or group of DJs) from Atlanta, GA, conceptualized in 1995 by a group of college students at Georgia Tech - Fadda Jinx, Dre, Soy, and Flam. For the first year or two, King AP held down the college circuit doing fraternity/sorority parties and the like. In 1996, King AP started a program on WREK 91.1 called Reggae Soundsplash, which was very successful and had a 9 year run. In January 1997, King AP 'touched the road' with their first club date at the Royal Peacock.
Since then, King AP has continued to hone their skills and established a reputation as a top-notch and well-rounded juggling sound; playing a wide variety of music with ease for any type of social gathering, from clubs to private parties to weddings. The roster has changed as new members have joined and older members have moved on to different endeavours. Currently the sound's active members are Fadda Jinx, Deputy, Lion Chef , Zed-eye Fire, and Junior . 9 years after King AP's first debut, King AP is one of the premier sound systems in Atlanta and still remains consistently booked every weekend.
Want to experience King AP for yourself? You can catch King AP at the Royal Peacock every 3rd Thursday at Gal Farm, and every Friday night at Fever Fridays; as well as at various other dancehall parties throughout Atlanta and across the US and Caribbean. You can also listen to King AP live on Blazin98 every Thursday and Saturday from 9pm-12am.
