Jazz saxophonist Phil Stockli born on May 16, 1973 in Basel, Switzerland. Graduate from Berklee college of music (1997). Ten year stay in the U.S., which of six in Boston und four in NYC. Return to Switzerland in the fall of 2003. First album The Horizon with Franco Ambrosetti and Sebastiaan deKrom on Swiss label Brambus in 1998. Second album Third Eye with Jeff Ballard, Matt Penman, Pete Rende and Mike Moreno on Fresh Sound New Talent in 2003. Gigs with Benny Golson, Phil Woods, Buddy DeFranco, Dusko Goykovich, Franco Ambrosetti, Matt Penman, Jeff Ballard, Jochen Rückert, Sebastiaan deKrom, Roman Schwaller, Matthieu Michel, Nico Assumpção, Brad Leali, Don Friedman, Little Joe Cook, "The Dells" Apart from perfoming, Phil has been working as a journalist for the only Swiss Jazz magazine Jazzn more since 2001 and is working on a Masters degree in clinical Psychology at the university of Zurich.
