About Me

With Hip Hop’s current over-saturation of the same tested formula of mainstream music populating the air waves, television, laptops, car audio systems and ipods of America, one must wonder what happened to the once respected art form and culture. what happened to artistry, creativity and individuality in today’s representative of black youth culture, the Hip Hop generation? Atlanta’s native son, B.Ware, answers these questions with his mic in hand.Born in Newport News, Virginia, Brandon Darnell Ware moved to Atlanta’s Southside, College Park, at the age of 4 years old. As far back as he can remember, music has been a part of his life:"Growing up, Outkast (and the whole Dungeon Family) had a huge influence on me. Those cats were right around the corner in East Point, and there was so much artistry in their music! But I loved Hip Hop for so much more than the south though. Alot of guys listen to some albums or stumble upon a few old school records and say they’re living the culture. I’ve embodied this thing since before my age was in double digits, and have studied it, lived it and breathed it ever since. I was exposed to crazy east coast, mid-west, and west coast artists very early. I’ve always loved Jay-Z, Nas, Common, Tupac, Wu-Tang, a Tribe Called Quest, NWA, Dr. Dre, Snoop and Ice Cube, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony were my boys growing up. 89’- ’97 are my favorite years, no question. I’ve played percussion since middle school and my pops is HUGE on oldies, so I love the 60’s and the 70’s alike and ofcourse the King of Pop is the greatest. period. As close as Hip Hop has always been to my heart and all the lessons it taught me socially and politically, I didn’t officially start Emcee’n ’til about a year ago! A good friend of mine, NoTiQ, whom i met at Mercer University’s campus encouraged me to hop on a track with him and when I did, needless to say he thought I sounded like I had been doing this my whole life. Word manipulation comes natural to me. I always thought that the ability to fuse iLL lyrics, crazy wordplay with a message and STILL appeal to the mainstream, the streets, and the suburbs without sounding preachy was the greatest gift in Hip Hop, as far as MC’n goes, thus it is my mission to do so, be a social activist, and entreprenuer and move the culture as a whole into arenas unforeseen. Plus, I’m only 20 and you would never be able to tell by my lyrical content or the direction of my music. My potential is through the roof...this I know."B.Ware has always promoted knowledge and growth to his friends in his neighborhood, and will show the world that black kids can grow up with no silver spoon, make it to college, graduate, and still "spit iLL", touching the hearts of fans worldwide."It’s time out for the nonsense rap, man. We have to stop selling our souls to this industry and preaching death and destruction to our children and each other. There is an enormous level of influence and responsibility in our words everytime we roc these mics. We gotta step it up another notch, save these ghetto children out here and teach the world. I’m not sayin be Ghandi, but somebody didn’t do their job raising us so we gotta raise each other...the right way. If cats ain’t ready for that, my suggestion to them would simply be: B.Ware."(WE)alth Pt. 2 (WE)alth Pt. 2Dreams (Reality & Rhyme)
