Sometimes I make short movies. Then I use the magic of the interconnected web nets to bring them to you. Why, just look below:

Don't do this to me. We'll be here for hours.
Without talking specific titles, directors, and schools, let's say:
I like anything original. I like anything slightly surreal. I like bittersweet endings. I like it when the good guy loses and moves on anyway. I like things that make me laugh. I think it's okay to make a movie that's just about looking pretty, but it better be REALLY pretty. I like anything that takes a well-worn idea and presents it in a new way. I like it when Asian movies seem like they're over and then tell a whole new story. I like a good skinemax 2 AM movie with the word "Bikini" in the title. I dig it when very little happens to characters when they're characters that feel real. I like my action movies big and stupid and funny and loud. I like it when horror movies don't show me the monster, because I can imagine them scarier than you can make them. I like stupid 80s movies where teenagers stutter about love over really bad keyboard soundtracks. I like it when movies are bad on purpose.
But I like making them about a million times more than I like watching them.
I like cartoons and the Travel Channel. Also, if you sit me down in front of What Not To Wear, I can't look away. It's embarrassing, really.
The Amazing Adventures of Cavalier and Clay, Slaughterhouse-Five, Great Expectations (and all Dickens), The Idiot, Infinite Jest, Girl With Curious Hair (just go ahead an insert all David Foster Wallace), Our Noise, Henderson the Rain King (and assorted Saul Bellows; not all, just assorted), Et Tu, Babe?, All Twain, Any Sartre, H.G. Wells, The Chronicles of Narnia, And (strangely) instruction manuals. For ANYTHING.
Anyone who's running the marathon next month. I am SO going to be there next year.
