After spending many years trying to get a band off the ground in his basement Justin (drums) met Steve (guitar, vox) which started the whole process. Ramiro The Sound Guy (The Crazy Eights) and Rob (Abbie Chase) joined the two in a previous attempt in a band that didn't work out. Steve and Justin stuck together and kept writing.
Mike (guitar, vox) had spent a couple years being the frontman in Far From the Truth. Unfortunately, sometime after their release "Postcard Promises" the band disbanded and went in separate directions. Mike spent some time jamming with a couple bands and couple different people but didn't find something that really stuck.
Kevin (bass, vox) had been playing drums for some time, first in Without a Doubt and later in Cornerstone that became Summerside. Not too long after their release "Lessons on how to Detach" and some touring Kevin left the band.
Mike joined up with Steve and Justin and pointed everything in a new direction that was much more dynamic than what Steve and Justin had been working on. Then it was time to search for a bassist and complete the band. Kevin mentioned one day in passing that he might try out for bass in the little band Mike was playing with and asked to hear some of the music that was recorded.
Almost immediately after their first practice all together at Rumenal Records, the band was locked in and started more writing and getting show ready.
It took only a few months to get everything in order and prepare for the first show at the Duke. Once that set was over the band grabbed whatever shows it could to make use of the summer. Unfortunately during this time and a brief hiatus that followed their last show at the Duke they realized that things with Mikey weren't quite working out. From this point the band decided to move on and continue to write and practice as a 3 piece while searching high and low for a suitable 2nd guitarist.
Kyle was found amongst a few guitarist that came to try out and really fit in with everything With Vanity was trying to accomplish. In short he showed up ready to work and with that attitude, the band has struck up new excitement and inspiration. Stay tuned for the future, new tunes, new photos, new site, new shows.
