About Me
Uni-T (spelled Unity) is a group of 4 young female dancers from different backgrounds. They come from four different countries(cultures) : Dominican Republic, Haiti, Congo(Zaire) and Morocco.. The group was officially born in the city of Laval (Qc) in 2004. Le Mane & Le Ko were the first ones to meet each other in 2003 while dancing for a hiphop crew called URBAN EFFECT. They also were background dancers and choreographers for the latin band : ESTOFA BAND. Then, while working with singer LYNX, they met Le Gar who was with TWO WAYS at that time. A year later, they recruited a new member: Le Ro, who danced several years for the group BROWN SUGARS. Together, they are bringing a new flavour to the art of dancing. Their first performance was in 2004. They did the opening for MUZION’s show at Montmorency College. Since then, nothing could stop them. Today they have hundreds of shows and collaborations in their repertory. They did the opening for different artists such as DJAKOUT MUSIK, NICHOL’S and LUDACRIS and were at local Festivals such as KOMPAS FEST and COLOMBIA FEST. They also won second place at the Urban Synergy Festival in 2005 in the hiphop dance category. They worked with artists such as SOCIO (Reggaeton singer), IAESHAA (R&B/Dancehall singer), DELIRIOS DANCERS, DOGG SIDE (Rappers), DJ XAMPLES, MONTREAL GQ, TRIBE ALONE, BLEU KINANGA (African singer), IZZO (rapper) and many more… They also appeared on TV (Vibe Plus/Musique Plus) and at local basket-ball games, specially for the MATRIX of Montreal. Their popularity is constantly growing. Today, these creative girls are one of the biggest crew of promoters for Montreal’s hottest spots thanks to their hard work and dedication. Their confidence, their energy, their imagination and mostly their union is what have brought them success. They could be dancing hip hop, r&b, dancehall, reggae, techno, african, zouk, kompas, salsa, merengue, contemporary, ballet or even belly dance, its always the same: the pleasure, the feelings and emotions they have while doing what they love most is, unexplainable. No matter what they do, you can see that these talented women have complicity but mostly LOTS OF FUN and… so will their audience!
