About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
It has been my great honor to work closely as poet/lyricist for the celebrated composer Eric Whitacre. Our collaborations include Lux Aurumque, Sleep, Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine, and Her Sacred Spirit Soars. We have several other pieces in the works, and I am proud to say that we will be continuing our collaboration, expanding it to include speaking together about our process at choral clinics and workshops. We recently enjoyed a very successful workshop at Texas Tech University. My other roles include teacher, father, poet, painter, mystic, über geek, singer, thinker, and an accomplished neurotic. I am a very complex person. On a personal note, you should know that I was widowed a year ago. My wife died as a result of ovarian cancer. I urge all female readers to ask their doctors about screening tests such as CA-125. No, you are not too young to worry about it. My wife died two days before her 36th birthday.
