Born in Roswell, New Mexico he has jokingly been referred to as the "Hero from a thousand places" due to the fact that he was uprotted so many times as a child, living in Humboldt, the South Side of Chicago, Santa Barbara, and Berkeley.As an adult he spent time honing his craft in NYC and LA but Dave freely admits "My Music always takes me back to the open-ness, innocence and Freedom of New Mexico. I can't escape that - it's at the heart of me."
