Stambordet started as an acoustic trio in 2005, but the band soon expanded and became a sextet in 2006. The guitarist and his friends are working on a project trying to make some connections between "Hardingfele", an old Norwegian folk music instrument, and flatpicking Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Resonatorguitar/Dobro and Double Bass.
The music can be described as a blend of old local traditional music from Bjerkreim, Jæren and bluegrass.
