I guess we could ask Dishwater Blonde, the Best Rock Band of 07 (According to the People) Metropulse just announced it, Knoxville voted. Congratulations to Dishwater Blonde, (imho) a very talented band.
So talent? Talent gets you noticed. Bullshit, these hills and Hollers are ringing with some of the best music in the world. Politics play a big, big part. It has to be Politically correct, SAFE, or in the case of some of the accepted Schlock Rockers “Good natured Rebellion†.
What about the REAL Punk Rocker Bands. The bands such as my own who play no less than 4 times a week whether on stage or sweating in the garage. Actually, We’re a Punk influenced Dirty Southern Rock Band.The DISOBEDIENTS, There’s your premier Punk Rock band. The Dirty Johns another Punk Rock talent. The Lucky Bastards, Southern Scum Punk at it’s best, The Pigs, Punk Metal Crossover that will make your ears bleed. The Dirty Knees, Speed Shifter, Savior self, Americunts,
U.S. Police State, all these bands are tearing shit up just below radar.
The Bible Belt of Knoxville likes it that way. We kind of like it that way. This is our music. It’s our damn Elks Club or Fuckin’ lions Den. There’s no secret handshake to get in, No ultimate “Cool Trendy Phrase†to open the door. It’s just if you’re a heartless Poser or someone looking to slum for a Night or two, have fun. We will have our fun at your expence.
