[Caption.iT - Picture Captions]jessHi my names is Christian im 14yrs old and i go to la jolls high im a freshman and i play football on the freshmen team!!SOMETHING HAPPENED to me on Friday the 31 of August that for as long as i live, i will never forget. When we walked into the locker room at halftime down 14-0, nobody had an ounce of doubt in their mind and body that we were going to come back and win the game. Fired up, and ready to fight, we went on the field and put a quick 6 points on the board after a textbook onside kick by braden fudge. By using the momentum from the unexpected touchdown, we battled the entire second half and narrowed the score down to 27-25. With about 1:30 left on the clock, S.F.C had the ball on their own 30 yard line. The Defense, knowing they had to get a stop in order to have a chance at winning the game, came out firing. Number 88, James Cochrane, led the defense this drive by making a couple bone crushing hits to rattle the offense. The defense came up short, allowing 2 first downs and giving the offense enough time to rundown the clock. S.F.C took the delay of game penalty, stopping the clock at the lowest possible time, 5 seconds. We got the ball with 5 seconds left on our own 30 yard line. Thinking that the game was over, the team was disappointed in our tough loss, but glad that we put up a fight. We see Zlatic take the snap, scramble, juke out a couple kids. Not surprising. He starts to make his way up field. To the 50, to the 40, to the 30. At this point the team and coaches are sprinting down the sidelines along our quarterback screaming and yelling. "We're going to win this game" is what we all thought while Zlatic made his way down field. TO THE 20, but suddenly a hand grabs a hold of him and attempts to throw him to the ground. The life is sucked out of everyone on the sideline knowing that we we're so close to scoring. But wait, the ball pops out of Zlatic's hands. LATERAL to Johnson, then we see another lateral to Kirchberg. We see Kirchberg sprinting to the outside with plenty of room to run. TOUCHDOWN. The vikings swarm the field screaming and yelling in pure astomishment. While i was running out onto that field, I had this surreal feeling right in the pit of my stomach, an indescribable feeling that only if you are extremely lucky, you will get to experience. Well I got to experience it, and i thank God because it is probably the most amazing feeling in the world. For the first time in my life, the words "never give up" actually meant something and paid off. WE never gave up, fought to the end, and came out on top. For this moment in time, i swear, i felt infinite.
