DayDream Johnny

Too many adjectives/phrases/images come to mind when dealing with a character as complex as DayDream Johnny. A hopeless romantic. An enigma. An extra in a screenplay. An old lounge singer. A what might have been. A star player in his prime but stuck on a bad team. Too much scotch/too many smokes/excessive long nights and lipstick stains. One thing is for certain, Johnny can count on his Cadillac and his right hand man - Last Minute Larry on the cut. Larry shows up with the dat and wax just in time for DDJ to entertain the cocktail party. DDJ is a sort of tragic protagonist that spends his time traveling while always keeping his eye on that elusive lead roll.
