Dhaubgurz was created by Hermod at the end of the 2003, while he was in his main band, Avernum.
The personal problems with the other members of Avernum, forced to him to leave the band.
Hermod decided to follow totally in solitaire with Dhaubgurz. He took from the language orkish, two words, Dhaub (agony) and Gurz (death), giving a name that has free interpretations.
Hermod finishes his first promotional album in winter 2003, "Forest of Souls", under the label, Wolf Records, having very good reviews.
Later Hermod was united to the singular group of Pagan/Folk/Black Metal, Cyhiriaeth and Carcharoth. Hermod now play too in Panzerfrost.
Dhaubgurz combine pagan black metal with black metal of the old school, with more influences of the pagan history of Spain, Celtiberia, and european and nordic paganism.
Dhaubgurz isn't a political group, and not NSMB. Dhaubgurz based his music in the old pagan values and his fight against the Christianity.
3 years later, Hermod finishes his second work, "Rebirth of the Pagan Fires" in 2006, with 2 new songs and the re-edition of his first work in CD, "Forest of Souls", under the label, Nigra Mors.
