Biography : Nicolás Coronel was born on the 17th of March, 1980, in Mar del Plata,
Buenos Aires, Argentina.
From as young as he can remember he has had a love for music. The youngest
child in his family, he was influenced heavily by the sounds of the 80s that
his older sisters were listening to in those days. He always had a passion
for clubs, dance music and was instantly attracted to the DJ booth and equipement.Through the 90s he became continuously more attracted to the world of clubs
and dance music, paying attention to national and international Djs and
learning their styles.
In 1994 he because to buy his first equipment, beginning his career as a DJ,
playing parties at his school, hotels, private parties, etc.
His record bag began to greow with music from artists like David Morales, Paul Oakenfold, Faithless, Deep dish, Daft Punk, etc.In 1997 Nicolás began work in various bars in a district of his city well
known for its nightlife and he gained confidence behind the tables . His style was beginning to take shape, based in house music and the trance tunes that were growing in force at that time. He continued going to Complejo Sobremonte, his favorite club and one of the best in the country, with the best parties and the best djs.As the 90's came to a close and 2000 arrived, Nicolás had gained experience
from playing in many divers events, including other clubs from the Mar del Plata.As 2000 came to a close, was able to listen and define his style and
musical taste more and more, thanks to hearing music at some of the best
parties like Cream and Ministry. He began listening to the new sounds of
progressive house that were being played by Hernan Cattaneo, who was a
resident DJ at Divino Dance Club in the summers.
At Sobremonte, he was able to listen to and get to know the sounds of DJs like Sasha, John Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, Lee Burridge, Dave Seaman, etc., and in the Divino Dance Club DJs like Deep Dish, Steve Lawler, David Morales, Peace Division, George Morel, Satoshi Tomiie, John Pleased, amongst others, all definitively marked by the sounds of house and progressive house.In those years he continued learning and gaining experience playing in many
clubs, occasionally playing in Velvet, the chill and deep house portion of
Sobremonte, and in the year 2002 he was able to play nights in the Divino
and Sobremonte as a guest DJ.By the summer of 2003, he was offered a position as resident DJ in one of
the city's two most important clubs, El Divino Beach (La Caseta) . In the same year he
also received a Friday night residency in the Velvet Dance Session, with
additional dates in Sobremonte.
In 2004 the owner of the club offered him residency in the Divino Dance
club, playing with the best Djs in the national and international electronic music scene.
Little by little he was beginning to gain an interest in music production.
In 2005, he's one of the resident Djs of Complejo Sobremonte and Divino
Beach.
Nicolás has played in the Mar del Plata Dance Parade Festival, the most
important event on Argentina's Atlantic coast, since 2002 in all editions, in the Ibiza
summer dance tour in 2003, and in the summer of 2005 he was in the main stage lineup
for Argentina's first ever Mixtronica Marlboro, only the third in the world.
He has shared the booth with many famous DJs in the electronic scene, names
like Martin Garcia, Gabo, Parks & Wilson, Spitfire, Cesar de Melero, Jason Jollins, Ricky Ryan ,DJ Paul, Diego Ro-K, DJ Oliver, Blake Baxter, Romina Cohn, Hardy
Hard, Carlos Diaz, Guille Quero, Alto Camet, Javier Zuker, Reche and many others.Though still a young producer, his works are being noticed, his tracks
already having been played by Hernán Cattaneo, G-Pal, Kosmas Epsilon, Chris Fortier, V-Sag, Martin Garcia , Dousk, Kriece, Chloe Harris, Nikos Diamantopoulos, Andrew K, Dj Tarkan, Nick Warren, Steve Gerrard, Micah, Mike Hiratzka, Randall Jones, D:Fuse, Snake Sedrick, KVK, Deepmariano, Derek Howell, 16bit lolitas, , Blue room Project, Hiroshi Watanabe, Chris Micali, Eelke Kleijn, dPen, Slok, Sjunkes, Jason Jollins, Anil Chawla, Guillaume and many others.
His original productions are part of the top ten downloads with the 1º place in pages like Resonantvibes.com (1 continuous month), Release records, Juno records and others. Also he did remixes for artists like Kosmas Epsilon (Greece) signed by Heavy Rotation for his famous track Innocent thoughts, Jens Gad (Enigma), Dj Tarkan (Turkey), V-sag (Greece), Mike Brin (Russia), Nikos Diamantopoulos (Greece), Josel & Pedro (England) and others.¨ I like the Nicolas Coronel tracks! (France), Frisky (USA), Metrodance (Buenos Aires – Argentina) and all the best radios around the world, also in massive events like Creamfields, Moonpark, Southfest (Buenos Aires), Perú (James Zabiela & MartÃn GarcÃa), Pacha Buenos Aires, etc.
In December of 2005 left to the air his set..s in radios like X4 (Buenos Aires) and Frisky radio, sharing line up with V-Sag, Micah and Matt Rowan.
In June of 2006 his track ¨ Resonance ¨ was including by G -Pal in the new compiled ¨G -Pal 02 ¨, released on Swift records, sharing this compiled with names like Peace Division, Tiefschwartz ft. Tracy Thorn, Pole Folder, G –Pal, Jody Wisternoff, Dousk, Mikael Delta, Buick Project among others big names.
In July of 2007, Proton Radio left to the air a special two hour set from Nicolás for the ¨ Featured Artist ¨section, counting really with a important number of listeners. Also Frisky Radio (USA) contact to Nicolás for put in the air the called ¨ Nicolás Coronel is Feeling.. Frisky ¨, a special set of one hour in the month of November 2007. In the same month, closing November ..ll be playing in Buenos Aires (Jackos club) and Córdoba, one of the most important cities in Argentina, in the ¨ Onroute Festival ¨ as guest dj sharing name with Jason Jollins and Ricky Ryan; the festival expects 4000 people in the 3rd edition , being one of the most bigs electronic festivals inside of Argentina.
In March of 2008 Nicolas start his own radio show on Frisky Radio called ¨Nicolas Coronel presents Mestiza Records ¨ showing in his exclusive sets the latest and upcoming new releases of Mestiza among others and also special guest artists from Mestiza rooster, friends dj..s and producers of the national and international scene.
Nicolás is artist on labels like Heavy rotation (UK), Acute recordings (USA), Swift records (GR), Toes in the sand (USA), Fiberline Audio (USA) and owner of Mestiza Records, his own label, the only digital label in Southamerica specialized in house, deep, dark, progressive and breaks sounds, counting with big names and young talents, and also the support by the best artists around the globe.At 27 years old and a DJ for 12, Nicolás continues to watch closely all types of house music, always exploring the world of electronic music, the scene and play in new clubs inside and abroad of his country...
