The Rockers
JOHN MICHAEL SORIA
John Michael Soria’s stage presence is hard to miss. More than six feet tall and usually dressed in black, the audience immediately knows it’s in the company of a genuine rock musician. John Michael is an exciting, home-grown guitarist known from here to the West Coast for his innovative and energetic guitar licks. John Michael has performed with numerous groups, most notably, Shotgun and Vizion, and Euclid Drive.
One of the Southwest’s hottest bands during the late 70s and early 80s, Vizion released Rock For Your Life, which received airplay on rock stations throughout the South and Southwest. While enjoying the popularity of Shotgun and Vizion, John Michael had the opportunity to open for many national acts such as Van Halen, ZZ Top and Van Zandt, among others.
In the mid 1980s, John Michael moved to California where he hooked up with numerous outfits, most notably Euclid Drive. In addition to the two CDs with Euclid Drive, John Michael had a song, co-written with Freddee T, on the soundtrack of the movie Blast, as well as a music video with the L.A.-based group called the HEAT.
JOHN WINDLE
John Windle is the solid, reliable bass man that rounds out StoneAge’s meaty arrangements and forceful sounds. He lends his voice to the tight harmonies and draws the audience in with his entertaining stage presence.
John was a founding member of the wildly popular show band, C.C.Crow. Traveling the same circuit as such as Vince Vance and the Valiants and Emerald City, C.C.Crow was known for its entertaining stage performance and was in high demand at conventions and private parties throughout North Texas.
John and his various bands were regulars on Dallas’ famous club circuit of the 1970s and 80s. John has played with locally famous projects such as Southern Cross and First State Bank. John later joined Shotgun, which later became Vizion. In 1979, Vizion cut an album titled Rock For Your Life, which hit the top ten charts in many local markets.
DAVID HENINGTON
David Henington is the thunder behind StoneAge’s driving rock beat. David is the physical embodiment of rhythm and beat. He lays it down smooth, and he’s always on time. David’s easy, freewheeling drumming style delivers the rhythms that make people want to get up and dance. As the band’s head partier, his exuberance is contagious. He whips the audience into a party frenzy, gets them on their feet and out on the dance floor.
Growing up in South Mississippi playing in mostly original bands, David is no stranger to the stage. David has enjoyed regional success with two mostly original bands Somebody in the 1980s and Schmill in the 1990s. Schmill produced two CDs. First was the blues-influenced Sunshine Reign, which helped launch the band’s cult-like following. Sunshine Reign followed by the self-Titled album SCHMILL, a much heavier and more experimental sound. David now lends his professional background and entertainment style to StoneAge’s rhythm section.
DAVID De HAES
Dave De Haes is a hard-core, rock’n front man that looks and sounds like a genuine rock star. As StoneAge’s lead vocalist, his stunning vocal gymnastics breath life into the tunes that made arena rock bands famous. De Haes establishes the foundation for the band’s attention-grabbing harmonies and boisterous performances. When De Haes sets foot on stage amid the lights and the lasers, the audience knows this isn’t an ordinary club performance. This is a rock show.
