About Me

"Some people hear their own inner voices with great clearness, and they live by what they hear. Such people become crazy, but they become legends." (Legends of the Fall) Always listen to your inner voice. Lately I haven't been, and it has come back to haunt me...I'm a little bit hippie, a little bit punk, a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll. And I wouldn't have it any other way. I study way too much (which accounts for the very high GPA I'm sporting!), and I have a ton of trouble telling lies. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and it's really noticeable if I try and lie! All of my friends live on the East Coast, so I pretty much spend my days with Nick and my studies. Valedictorian, here I come!On March 10, 2007 Nick took me on a private hot air balloon ride at sunrise and proposed!! No date set yet, but I LOVE being engaged and we are in no hurry to walk (run?) down that aisle.

My Interests

Hanging by the beach, eating at Panda with Nick, laughing with my good friends, playing with the kiddos, and walking in the rain

I'd like to meet:

Old friends from C-Town, and my new friends in San Diego, real people who aren't afraid to live, laugh, and most importantly, love

Music:

I'm a lifelong Jimmy Buffett fan... FINS UP! I really like anything I can dance around to, sing to, and makes me think of people and places I have known in my life. I'm not really a "pick a certain type of music person", more like a "pick a song" type of person.

Movies:

Legends of the Fall, The Notebook, Varsity Blues, Wiz of Oz, An Officer and a Gentleman (HA HA HA), Runaway Bride (another HA HA HA!) most recently, though, For Love of the Game, and anything that stars Joaquin Phoenix... major crush!

Television:

Project Runway, Desperate Housewives, old Sex and the City reruns, The Girls Next Door. Oh, and I've seen like literally EVERY episode of the Real World since it started in like what, 1992? But I mainly stick to the news, so I can catch up on the world.

Books:

Anything I can get my hands on, on any given subject, Nick's Playboys, The Notebook, Vogue (although not a book), any one of the classics (the ones they made us read in high school) especially The Scarlet Letter and Where the Red Fern Grows... what can I say, I'm a big nerd at heart

Heroes:

My little sister, for being an independent woman (yet married at a very young age!), doing her thing no matter what, and most importantly, taking amazing care of my perfect little Monster, Tommy. Michele Torrence is my hero too. She can drink any guy under the table in half the time it takes me to, and has stood by me through every situation life has thrown at both of us for like 16 years as the best friend a girl could ever wish for. Way to be a rock star Michele! Nick is my hero because, well, he's the only man in this world that could put up with my craziness 24-7! And boy, is he patient!

My Blog

I am NOT a domestic goddess...

I wish I could call myself a domestic goddess.  But I can't, and not for lack of trying, either.  Over the past three years, I have tried, again and again, without success, to prove to mysel...
