I am not here to find a relationship. I am here to find friends and possibly hiking partners for weekend hikes or backpacking trips.
I am an Appalachian Trail nut. Since 1985 I had thought about hiking the Appalachian Trail from end to end (thru hike). I never really serious started thinking about doing it until 1999 after I retired from the military. At that time I started doing section of the Appalachian Trail in Maine and doing as much research as I could to find out more about what it would take to thru hike the AT. There was very little on the internet to help me with this research. In 2002 when an opportunity to take over a Appalachian Trail web site I jumped on it. I took it over and did a complete restructure of it and if has become the best Appalachian Trail web site on the internet today.
With all that said, I would like to thank everyone that has made WhiteBlaze the best Appalachian Trail web site on the internet today. I could not have done it alone. It was all of you that really did it. I am just the person behind the scenes.

With all that I have learn from our open forums on our web site and experimenting with different backpacking items I can say I am ready to do my thru hike at any time. I have set my goal for my thru hike for the year 2010. This gives me time to save my mortgage payments to put aside so that they will get paid while I am hiking. I am excited and scared at the same time. .
