About Me

Isn't life funny and weird and wonderful and tragic? There are a lot of things that used to interest or worry me that just don't anymore. Say, for instance, identity theft, 3-way spagetti (or is it chili?), why people do what they do, why the caged bird sings, maybe just "why" in general because what does it matter anyway. However, I guess I still do have some questions like who's gonna be the next president, what I'm gonna do with all the crap in my storage unit, who is going to sleep with who on the next season of "Grey's Anatomy." So, until I get a toe-hold in the burger industry I guess I'll be hanging out with the girls and thinking on these things. "Lights down, you up and die . . . "

My Interests

I'm interested in anything interesting. Art and the people who make it, music and the people who produce it, and medicine and people who practice it.

I'd like to meet:

Vincent Chase. He's a fictional character and he's my boyfriend.

Music:

Dave Matthews, Tori Amos, Ani Difranco, Doobie Brothers, Peter Gabriel, Faithless, Sublime, Beatles, G Love and Special Sauce, Jack Johnson, Metallica, Celine Dion (kidding!), Dr. Dre, Death Cab for Cutie, Depeche Mode, Cure, Queen, Pink Floyd, New Order, Tears for Fears, Counting Crows, Bright Eyes and way too many more to even remember to name. My goodness, someone put down the lesbian top 40 - no Indigo Girls, no Melissa Etheridge, no k. d. lang. I like for my CD changer to be on shuffle and pick my music for me. I swear we (my stereo and I) have a psychic link.

Movies:

I love movies with great dialogue but I have to say that if film is a form of art then the most beautiful movie ever is The English Patient. And my long lost friend Jory got me hooked on Tarantino movies, but I'm behind and have yet to see Grindhouse. Not sure if I want to sit in a theater that long and that means I'm old and grumpy. I like documentaries and anything that plays on IFC and the Sundance channel.

Television:

I recently read that the demographic for "60 Minutes" was 65-year-old men. This proves that I am some weird hybrid of a teenager and elderly man because I love MTV. I get my news from Jon Stewart and my recipes from the contestants of Top Chef. Yeah, I watch too much TV and it's Jessica's fault.

Books:

Yes, please. I'll read anything once.

Heroes:

Mary Nation and her mothers who have impacted my life more than even I knew.
