About Me

Well, where do I start? It's me, Barnz the keyboard player from Mutant Cabaray, Byron the bassist from Audioeinstein or Ichabod Glory from Dave Boyfish. I've put a few of my home demos on here if anyone is interested. Hope you enjoy the odd, out of tune warblings.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.bgbyron.co.uk www.mutantcabaray.co.uk
Band Members: Apart from the classical stuff which I play nothing on, I am responsible for all of the noise on the recordings: Drums (some sequenced but the rest played on electronic drum kit), Bass, Guitars, Keys, balaliaka, violin. I also sing but I have to admit, I don't have the patience for perfection so it's all a bit ropey - never mind, style over substance gets me through.I always try to get at least one orchestral track on here. These are all live concert recordings and the musicians vary from experienced pros to amateurs - all of which do a great job with very little practice.
Influences: On the rock side: XTC, Robyn Hitchcock, Syd Barrett, Bowie, Marillion, Floyd, Kate Bush, Richard Thompson, Sparks, The Damned, Sandy Denny, John Foxx (early Ultravox but also his solo stuff),Iron Maiden, Kevin Rowland, System of a Down, Zappa, Manic Street Preacher's Holy Bible album, Radiohead, mercury rev, nick cave, Mars Volta. Oh, and of course The Beatles (later albums when the experimentation kicked in)Classically - I guess I like baroque dudes like Purcel - Dido and Aeneus is gorgeous - but mainly from Beethoven onwards. Stravinsky is probably number one. Holst and other English guys from 100 years ago - well it's my roots isn't it? Don't like atonal serialism - it just sounds BAD and anyone who likes schoenberg and his minions, Berg etc only pretends to like it so that they sound clever - it really is a horrible noise.OK, OK, I am willing to admit that I might be wrong on the last point. I hope it wound someone up.Currently listening to: Robyn Hitchcock - Jewels for Sophia. It's Bloody great.
Sounds Like: Probably none of my influences, I guess it depends which track you listen to. Some are more indie rock, some are electro, some are prog rock.
