About Me

Hackney born emcee Kulture Kartel is coming and with an album full of lyrics sharp enough to slice up the industry, this album is about to truly bless the scene. Kulture Kartel aka K.K. aka Black Sparticus, started his musical journey in the depths Ragga and the underground Jungle scene. In 1993 he linked up with Cuba, Lansunn and Kobayshi, and not long after they set up their own record label and started to make their own beats. Collectively better known as 12 Stone, the crew began a new chapter in the UK Hip Hop saga with this a fresh style was born. Kultures uncompromising sound was first laid down in 2000 when 12 Stone released the classic and largely undiscovered gem Stone age 2000. After much interest from the majors 12 Stones natural commitment to independence has become a legendary part of their history, and continues to appeal to and inspire their fans. Four years after the release of the album 12 Stone have made a varied selection of appearances performing at featured shows, festivals, Notting Hill Carnival and been on a 10 city nationwide tour called The Rap Revolution Tour. (Sponsored by 55 DSL). Performing alongside Rodney P and Titan Sounds (Skeame, Big P, Extremists and Mickel) 12 Stones fan base grew from underground fanatics to a nationwide and hip hop hungry audience. Having developed without losing his original and authentic style, Kulture will become the first member of 12 Stone to release a solo album. A mix of conscious, creative and unpredictable lyrics against the backdrop of imaginative production, giving birth to a naturally raw and truly inspiring sound. The album hosts a contrast of tunes including Whoops - a raw club banger, Ukcu Bits - a feel good tune for the women as well as Lord Have Mercy, a conscious reflection. The production is a perfect match for Kulture’s unique and diverse flow, creating a rare and exciting sound. Kulture is an emcee who has been simmering on the underground for a while now and he is one of those emcees who truly flies the banner for the U.K. while appealing to any true head from Kingston to NY. This is a talent which will inevitably rise to the surface. You can get a taste of what’s to come by getting hold of his critically acclaimed mixtape KultureKartel.com Volume 1 in stores soon!
