Ocean Trax was born at the end of 1996 with the releasing of Take me over the first House of Glass production that was originally produced by Gianni Bini, Paolo Martini and Fulvio Perniola with the collaboration of the great vocal singer Judy Albanese, one of the most popular house vocalist of that times. The single was lately released also in UK under Minisrty of Sound with special remixes by Mark Picchiotti.
After this Gianni & Paolo decided to continue their adventure in music business releasing the HOG follow up single Do Whatcha Feel but, few months late they gave the label a big impulse in the house scene in Italy and Europe with the publication of the single Dancing with you Bini&Martini with the voice of Romina Johnson (already featured on Artful Dodger & Goosebump singles..); the record was released in UK under Azuli (one of the most respected record labels in the dance scene) and in the rest of Europe after the remix that Full Intention have made for that track. Ocean Trax & Azuli decided to be in partnership for years with a record deal that helped Bini&Martini and their record label to increase the popularity not only in England. Infact in 1999 the first single Makes me love reached the UK top 20 sales chart and sold more than 70.000 copies only in UK. Not only, in 2000 the singles Disco Down HOG feat Giorgio Giordano;Soul Heaven The Goodfellas Soul Provider was licensed in all the world under the best house labels and reached the top position of the Club&Sales chart all over.
This bring Bini&Martini to the top level as producers and remixers, now major labels are asking them to put their hands and do remixes for biggest name of music like Jocelyn Brown, Kilye Minogue, Jamiroquai, Backstreet Boys and Gabrielle just to say
Their remix of Love Foolosophy won the “Italian Dance Awards for BEST REMIX of the year 2002.
After this Bini&Martini worked hard to keep Ocean Trax always at the top, trying to get the best singles to release even from other producers under exclusive licenses, and also doing the best they can to keep as high as possible the Ocean Trax Sound that now is a trademark for them.
In 2004 they have made the decision to create a subsidiary label of Ocean Trax: Ocean Dark. The intention was to give the finest Tech/Electro & Dub house music to all the DJ s that are looking for it. In so little time Ocean Dark (that actually count already 50 releases) is probably the biggest label in Italy for that kind of sound and one of the most respected labes in Europe too.
