Without a doubt, Shah Rukh Khan, the greatest actor in the world, my love! All the way in India, he has my heart...-sigh-...the fact that he lives on the other side of the world, with his wife and kids, and is 20 years older than me, and an actor, producer, performer, promoter, does NOT matter...
Hindi, all Spanish music, Hip-Hop, R&B, Oldies, Country, Reggaeton, Classical....I listen to everything, even stuff I don't understand. I don't discriminate, I listen to music from all languages...I am very diverse and everyone should be as well. We are all one, music is music.
Any Shah Rukh Khan movie...Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil to Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Asoka, Mohabbatein, Devdas, Chalte Chalte, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer-Zarra, Main Hoon Na, Paheli, Kabie Hushi Khabi Gham are some of the SRK ones that come to mind....non-SRK movies that come to mind that are completely excellent are Black, Shakti, Masti, Neal 'N' Nikki...Bollywood movies rule! If you are only watching Hollywood movies, I feel sorry for you because you are missing out! BTW, there are also Nollywood, Tollywood, Lollywood, Kollywood, and Zollywood movies....
I Love Lucy, The Simpsons, Spongebob, News, ZEE TV when I had it, I loved Sa Re Ga Ma Pa...
I don't have time to read for pleasure, except for some of my Lucy books, but some of the books I have read in past semesters of undergrad and grad school of interest are: "Guns, Germs, and Steel"; "Competing Devotions"; "The Career Mystique"; "Women Without Class"; "Pocho"; "Mexican Americans, American Mexicans"; "Men and Women of the Corporation"; "Fast Food,Fast Talk"; "The Hidden Cost of Being African American"; "They Called Them Greasers"...some of the few. *Wow what a nerd*...why yes, not to mention many the hundreds of journal articles I have read focusing on psychology (personality, counseling, experimental mostly), sociology (gender, race, stratification, education, methods, policies), Latino studies (content analyses, historical pieces, a lot of this cross-lists with sociology)...you can't expect to have 2 BA degrees, a minor, and a 'work in progress' masters without doing some reading unfortunately...
Shah Rukh Khan, Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Selena, those involved in the Chicano Movement in the 60s, among them Dr. Jose Angel Gutierrez, a professor in my university who made history. While some professors teach history, he made it.
