About Me

PLEASE NOTE: If you are under 16 and not a MySpace friend I can't reply to your messages. A few people have been sending me messages without becoming friends first - I'm not being rude, MySpace just won't let me reply!
FRI 3rd JULY - LITTLE COMETS + KASIMA + SOLITUDE
This is our last show before the summer break and it’s a real corker. Little Comets have had a whirlwind rise over the last few months, playing to thousands at Radio 1’s One Big Weekend last month and getting signed to major label Columbia where thay can count David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dyaln amongst their label mates!
The bands quirk-pop sounds and unusual gigging habits (trams, lecture theatres, call centres) coupled with an unrivalled live show have helped them develop a huge cult following. Thought by many to be Newcastle’s answer to the Mystery Jets with a healthy dollop of Vampire Weekend, Modest Mouse and Black Kids, their perfect balance of comical weirdness and amazing tunesmithery has put them on every tipsters hit list and attracted the support of Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe
Tickets are onsale now online and from the Town Council (glass stairwell at the back of the Town Hall)

THE SHOWS
For the last two years, Selby Town Council and 4Youth have teamed up to bring quality live band gigs to Selby for the first time. The aim was to run an intial set of 6 monthly shows that allowed under 18's the opportunity to watch some of the countries fastest rising stars in their own town at a price that everyone can afford.
The shows, priced at just £1.50 each, featured three bands - one from the Selby area, an aspiring regional band and a headliner to rival anything you could see in York, Leeds, Sheffield or any other city you care to name!
The events were all staffed by professional security guards and qualified youth workers to ensure that everyone had the best time possible
The Open, The Pigeon Detectives, Harrisons, Imperial Leisure, Brigade, The Bishops, The Wombats, Zombina & The Skeletones, The Motorettes, To My Boy, Last Gang, Misty's Big Adventure, Team Waterpolo, The Kabeedies, Skeletons, The Paddingtons, Kid British, The Ryes and Two Door Cinema Club have all headlined and many look set to go huge with The Pigeon Detectives and The Wombats already smashing into the charts!
