The story begins in 1979 when Rex "Lord Zargon" formed a group of haunted house actors that abandoned the trades typical masks and boos for individual characters, special effects make up, intense acting and elaborate costumes. And they are all volunteers for a charity. A cult was born. Go behind the scenes with "Lanthrapus," "Isala Razel," Ichabod," "Uther Toth" and dozens of other quirky personalities and their quest to make you pass out, puke and piss your pants. They believe underneath all the scares and screams they are performing a modern morality play. The film takes place at at the Bloodview Haunted House, where the Lords of Acting and Make- Up Sascha "Syphillis" and Quentin "Paingrin" work at managing the dramatic personalities as they transform themselves with latex, cotton and blood. When the legion wrap up their halloween party the topic of conversation inevitably turns to who did the best job of pushing a customers sanity over the edge. After 12 years of haunting Bloodview the Senior Knight Ed "Count Limus" felt the Legion were restricted by the owners refusal to perform a demon summoning. A new larger location was found at Wildwood Lake Park. Exhilaration quickly eroded for the Legion when bad business, vandalism, deception, backstabbing and a lackluster season on the Underworld brought internal dissent to a head. A witch hunt was feverishly pursued through the group. Family and friends become bitter enemies. Membership resignations of half the group tore the group in half. Years of bouncing around at other haunted houses the few remaining members of the Legion returned to their true home, Bloodview. The Legion saw a bright future assured by old members returning to the fold and bright new blood coming on board. Legion of Terror is 83 minutes. It is the feature film from make-up fx artist turned director David Henson Greathouse. It was shot on Super 16 millimeter film over the course of 13 years. Music is by the masked metal sounds of Mushroomead(The Scorpion King) and the creepiness of Midnight Syndicate (The Rage). Also featuring the songs from Cult of the Psychic Fetus and The Changelings.
Bloodview is sponsored by the Broadview Hts Lions Club and is built and staffed by The Legion of Terror, the World's oldest improvisational horror acting, makeup, and special FX organization. The house is located in Broadview Hts Ohio, and is the only Charity Haunt in Cuyahoga County, a twenty minute drive from both Cleveland and Akron, and well worth the trip. Bloodview is more than a Haunted House, it is a Haunted Experience, The NEW cemetary path leads you through the Haunted Woods through the vortex into the Main House. From the moment you cross the archway, you will be surrounded by monsters, they interact with you, they hunt you, they entertain you. This is what sets Bloodview apart from other haunts in the area, to the Legion, this is not a "Job", it is the "Show", it is a performance, one with which you may interact, you’re not just a customer, you’re a guest and an audience member. Every Actor is a Volunteer, there are no salaries, or hourly wages, they do it to entertain you the audience member. The Lions donate all proceeds of the haunted house to various charities local/national/international. Please be aware that the show can be graphic and is not recommend for those with heart conditions, expecting mothers, children under 8 years old, or anyone with an adverse reaction to strobes and artificial fog. We are open rain or shine, we have a covered waiting area, plenty of parking, food vendors and bathroom facilities on site. So if you want to have a good time this October, come out to Bloodview Haunted House, The Fear Lives Here!
In a world where holidays are increasingly being taken over for profit, at Halloween one place stands out – Bloodview Heights Haunted House. Sponsored by the Broadview Heights Lions Club, whose motto is “We Serve”, Bloodview has been scaring for a good cause for 28 years, and has raised nearly $2 million for charity. Most haunted attractions are run strictly for profit, but Bloodview has always been – and will always be – non-profit. The Legion of Terror, who produce the show for the Lions, also do it for charity – and the love of the art of horror acting, makeup and set design. This year, the Lions and the Legion are proud to present a new attraction at Bloodview, “The Gore House.” Named as an homage to the original Lion’s “Giant Gore House” of the 1980’s, the Gore House joins the newly redesigned Cemetery Woods and the original Haunted House to give customers three different attractions for one low admission price – and “More Gore Than Ever Before!” The show itself, as always, is different every night – the talented actors and artists of the Legion of Terror create new characters using Hollywood-style special effect make-up and use no masks, no scripts, just improv acting skills and twisted imagination. The oldest haunted attraction troupe in the world, The Legion of Terror has been helping raise money for charity since 1985. Their dedication to both philanthropy and the art of the scare is seen not only in their work at Bloodview, but in their services to groups like Students Against Drunk Drivers, creating crash victims for mock accidents at pre-prom presentations. Some of the troupe have gone on to professional work in the entertainment industry due to skills learned and honed volunteering with the Legion of Terror. Bloodview Haunted House has been a leader in the haunted attraction industry for years, bringing a level of professionalism to the “charity haunt” arena usually only seen in big for-profit concerns. Theme weekends with spontaneous group acts outside in the lot, monsters roaming the parking lot, and the creative use of set design and makeup and costuming are just some of the areas where Bloodview still stands above the competition. Bloodview Haunted House is the main fund-raiser for the Broadview Heights Lions Club, which has been serving on local, state and international levels for over 30 years. One of the most active clubs in Ohio, the Broadview Heights Lions invest about $40,000 each year in local projects for the betterment of the community. See the attached list for charities that the Lions and Legion have supported.
