Wumbloozo

About Me

Wumbloozo is an all originals band with songs that are somehow instantly recognizable. You find yourself singing or humming along almost immediately. If you like songs like "Mustang Sally" you'll love Wumbloozo; if you like the early Stones, you'll love Wumbloozo; if you like the Animals, you'll love Wumbloozo. In short Wumbloozo is just a kick ass band! Old school rock and roll and blues like it oughtta be!For Bookings please call Andrea DiGiulio at 323-255-2744

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.wumbloozo.com
Band Members: Michael Richard, guitar, vocals / Doctor Fun, harmonica / Mark Peters, bass / Ben Beckley, drums
Influences: The soul of Wumbloozo is Muddy Waters; the blood in it's veins is the hobos and heros of the south that ever picked up a slide guitar or blew some harp; the heartbeat is the thumping bass of Willie Dixon. The noteable ones you already know Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Paul Butterfield and their adopted children of the British Invasion.
Sounds Like: Take a guitar sound that wafted it's way out of a tiny, dark bar on the edge of the steamy Mississippi woods one midnight in 1946, mix it with a wailing harmonica noise that drifted down a cold street in Chicago in 1952, fold in some hot R&B sounds that crackled out of a radio into a 1965 house party, add in soulful country sounds shooting off into the Nashville sky, and blend it all skillfully with some originality that makes it a brand-new sound. And there you have Wumbloozo.
