When is the last time you played a CD and you didn't find to be a carbon copy of another band? When is that last time a 4 piece band completely left you paralyzed from the energy of a stage show? How about the last time you truly felt you got more than you paid for? In a musical-era that simply relies on trend followers instead of trend setters, safe-bets in place of risk and gamble, and watered-down takes the place of pure and original, some bands are standing their ground. Ignition Shot is one of these few bands. With a ground-breaking blend of Hip Hop, Rock, Blues, and Metal, Ignition Shot truly is a band carving their own mark in today’s music scene.
Just a little more than 2 years old, Ignition Shot possess what some bands work years to obtain. Priding themselves on original, soulful, true, pure music and putting it together for a stage show that will leave fans numb from the power and raw excitement, Ignition Shot fully understands what it means to be a rock band that puts on a rock show. With a set list that is 99% original, the talented foursome still manage to entertain diverse crowds with covers of Johnny Cash, Dr. Dre, Tupac, Rage Against the Machine, Aerosmith, and Pantera to name a few.
Formed in late 2005, Ignition Shot is the lovechild of singer/frontman Jared Wyatt, percussion/backing vocals Justin Wyatt, and bass/backing vocals Ryan Chapman. While each individual was pursuing a different career, they quickly found their own individual goals at a stalemate. The younger Wyatt {Jared} was finding it increasingly difficult to find a foothold in the world of Hip Hop. Chapman and Wyatt {Justin} had just left the band OYL after a 4 year stint of recording and touring. While the three were attending Appalachian State University together, they never collectively picked up instruments in the same room. That is, until a mutual friend of theirs suggested they join forces. In October of 2005, Chapman and the Wyatts walked down the steps to the Wyatt's basement, plugged in, and Ignition Shot was formed! After two years recording two albums (Tales of an Audio Assassin, SixteenTwenty) and numerous shows played, Ignition Shot decided it was time to take their music to the next level and begin shopping for label support!
