JBLOCK

About Me

Aggressive abrasive and always raw Jblock (or Just plain JB) is a force to be reckoned with, In todays rap scene its hard to tell the real from the fake, but there is no question JB is as real as they come with a demeanor as uncompromising as his name and enough drive and energy to force any opposition into submissionJB is known as the general of GDLDEnt© the Midwest production company based out of south central Kansas, hailing from an area little known from its Lyrical talent JB shines like a star On par with names like Stringer B, Sez Batters, Bling, XV, and Cypha Omni With a style as rough as his namesake JB declares open season for any challengersSome not familiar with the local hip hop scene may think of JB as a newcomer But nothing could be farther from the facts he and friend and labelmate Stringer Barksdale© Have been behind the scenes for years releasing several hits underground but Jb’sFirst major appearance on the mixtape scene was on the remix to Busta Rhymess Touch It with XV and label partner,Stringer Barksdale©. The song appeared on the mixtape, The Definition, and created a lukewarm buzz for JB, who was going by Just Block at the time.DJ Emergency, who is producing JB’s debut album entitled THE COMING, stated, The first day I recorded with J in the studio, there was no way I could tell that he isnt a polished artist. Possibly, his hunger just made him sound like hes been recording for years. Stringer and J Block shined on MY mixtape says XV of Royalty Records, and that rarely happens with artists outside of my camp. Thats when I knew that they had something. In several interviews the past JB has been asked about what made him more or less the way he Is To which he almost always answers “ I know what you wanna hear, you wanna hear that I was movin bricks big ballin an all that but the truth was I never liked hustling it was too much work and the payout was always slow an you always ran the risk of somebody like myself robbing you, I would rather be the dude that waits for the dude hustling to slip up an get him for what he worth than the asshole sittin on the corner or chillin on the block all day wastin time, its not for me I got shit to do moves to make my attitude is money by any means if I gotta be the getaway driver well then shit im the getaway driver if im hungry and you ballin then its turn them pockets homie, and that’s what made me what I am even though im a lot different from what I used to be deep down where the music comes from im still a stick up kid get in get my money get out no time for bullshitUncompromising Unassailable and definatley unforgettable we see bright things in the future ofJBLOCKLOVEMYFLASH CODE

Band Members: Get Down Or Lay Downs roster consists of Stringer Barksdale and Jay Da Block, but do not confuse the two as a duo. Stringer and Jay Da Block weren't exactly the best of friends in 2001. Stringer not being the easiest person to get along with and Jay not being the one to back down, they immediately butted heads the same day they met each other. For a whole year, Stringer and Block would have altercations whenever they saw each other. Then, at a local freestyle contest, Stringer was on the mic and Jay Da Block stepped up. The two freestyled on stage together and their beef was officially squashed through music. The two later on became very close associates and a year later, Get Down Or Lay Down was created. The name comes from their powerful demeanor and their "either you're with us or against us" attitude. Get Down or Lay Down is not a group, a label or a gang. It is just a piece of the elaborate plan in putting Kansas on the map! With alliances with some of the best producers, artists and labels in the city, Stringer and Jay Da Block plan to be a major factor in the rise of the Midwest.
Influences: JBlock attributes such rappers as Doug e fresh, DMX, Method man, Biggie smalls, Jadakiss, Styles p. and other artists such as Ray Charles, Bill withers, Ozzy Osborne, AC/DC, and James brown to his style he takes the best of both worlds to the kitchen and what comes out is the perfect combination of edge ans showmanship that makes a JBlock show something you wont soon forget
Sounds Like: i sound like nothin you ever heard before in yo lifej/k, my sound is somethin like if you took BIG PaC Busta two tons of bricksbenjamin Sigel an smashed em into one person
