I am from Houston, Tx. I moved to Chicago in '95 to go to school in Evanston (Go Cats). I fell in love with Chicago, settled in after graduation and got a job as a business analyst at a "strategic" consulting firm. I became interested in the service industry after pitching work for Jim Beam. (We weren't the only ones who didn't get hired for their work because the consulting company went under after working there a year.) From there I started working at Roscoe's Tavern to test the service industry waters ( and liquors), and to just have some fun! During the 5 years of work there, I met a lot of wonderful people in the North Halsted Community (including Matt whom I've been with for 5 years now). I knew that this job was for me...and this amazing community of North Halsted in Chicago was for me, too. I am lucky enough to now own a bar just down the way from Roscoe's Tavern called, minibar | chicago. It's been a lot of work, but with amazing people all around me (customers, staff, friends, family, lover, and great bus. partner)...minibar has turned into an amazing place to meet people, socialize and have fun! I am having a great time with this, and I can only hope that I have added to the community and to the city that I have adopted!
