Art, shooting pool (I'm an addict :), music (just about anything, but I'm partial to Bob Dylan and bluegrass), reading (anything from Dostoyevsky and Vladimir Nabokov to Tim O'brien and Stephen King), cooking....God I love to cook, tennis, chess, guitar, my son, my family, Tetris, mountain biking, and crossword puzzles, and above all spending time with my friends. :)
Other than the random MySpace folks, I'd like to meet Bob Dylan (to discuss lyrics, poetry, and life in general), John Camp (aka Sandford...to discuss why "Down on the Corner" by CCR is worthy of being included in a Top 100 Rock Hits list and "Come Together" by The Beatles is not), Desmond Tutu (to discuss Soweto and politics in general), Mark Knopfler (to bow down to The Guitar God :), John Connolly (to drink a pint of Guinness with him), Peter Rowan (to hear him sing "Land of the Navajo"), Bryce Courtenay (to talk about Peekay), Emmylou Harris, Tim O'brien, Robert Earl Keen, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams (to discuss Bluegrass vs. Rockabilly), Clive Cussler (to meet the real Dirk Pitt and sit in his Avions Voisin), and Bill Clinton (to shake his hand and ask why he didn't pick better looking women...hahaha). And George Bush - to kick him in the nuts.
There are plenty more, but I figured that's enough for one sitting. I'll see who strikes my fancy in a week or so...but Bob Dylan will ALWAYS be number 1.

There are a ton more, but that's enough for now.
I honestly never watch television except for the occasional hotel and/or hospital stay. Both always remind me of why I hate television. I get my news from the web and rent Law and Order, House and CSI from Netflix. That's about it.
I have about 1000 books in my library, so there are too many to list... But some favorites are Fyodor Dostoyevsky (The Brothers Karamazov and The Possessed are my favs by him), Hermann Hesse, Vladimir Nabokov (Bend Sinister and Lolita are my favs), Tim O'Brien (love The Nuclear Age and Going After Cacciato), Anne Rice, Clive Cussler, John Connolly (my new favorite novelist), John Sandford, Stephen King, Bertrand Russell, Par Lagerkvist (if you haven't read The Dwarf, then you are missing out on life), any Roman or Greek mythology, Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises, George Orwell (Animal Farm and 1984), Milan Kundera (The Unbearable Lightness of Being is wonderful), The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje (some of the prettiest prose I've ever read), Robert Ludlum, Frederick Forsyth, William Diehl (Primal Fear and others), Thomas Harris (The Hannibal Lecter Series, although my fav by him is Black Sunday), and, yes, Harry Potter :)
My brother Jedd (miss you so much, man), Bob Dylan (surprise), Nelson Mandela, US Troops (hate the war, not the soldiers), my sister Nadine - she has more patience than one person should have ... such a great woman.
