Psalmist, Vocalist, Minister, Praise & Worship Leader
These elements are only some of the ingredients that come together to describe the Modern-Day Levite:
CURTIS "BUSTA" BROWN .
Curtis, a native of Chicago, was raised in an atmosphere where music was treasured and God was reverenced. Being influenced early in life by his mother, the late Ida B. Brown, the foundation was laid for a love of music ministry. "Busta," as Curtis is affectionatley know was further nurtured by his then church home Greater Harvest Baptist Church a church rich in gospel music history in the city of Chicago. His gift, and love of music was later influenced and shaped by the likes of The Winans, Commission, and Pastor John P. Kee.
In 1998, Curtis joined forces with Percy and Jeral Gray of Gray Boy Production. Gray Boy Production is responsible for great music and groups such as: Chicago Mass, Chapter, New Direction, Praise II, and Joshua's Troop. This relationship further groomed Curtis and has provided many great experiences. As a result, Curtis has been featured on a number of projects as a vocalist and writer. These projects included the highly celebrated New Direction 2004 release "Rain," where Curtis wrote and led the praise and worship ballad "Have Your Way".
God's anointing along with Curtis's awesome talent as a vocalist, writer and praise and worship leader have resulted in favor and popularity amongst the gospel community in and beyond the Chicagoland area. As a result, Curtis has been featured in programs and several projects for various artists and groups including: Chicago Mass Choir, Lemmie Battles, Montage Pheleon, and New Beginning Ministries.
"Busta's" talent has carried him through great national and world travels: GMWA, the annual Chicago Gospel Festival, the Stellar Awards and Switzerland. Curtis has had the privilege of sharing the stage with Gospel and R&B artists to include the following: Shirley Ceasar, Ricky Dillard, Donald Lawrence, Kim Burrell, James Hall, Harvey Watkins and the Canton Spirituals, Michelle Williams, Pattie LaBelle, Kenny Latimore, and Jagged Edge and many more.
One who knows Curtis can say his favor has been increased, and his gift has made, and continues to make room for him because of his faithfulness to God and to ministry. He is a faithful member of St. James Ministries Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Elder W. James Campbell. Curtis is an intricate asset to the music ministry at St. James where he works tirelessly in the music ministry.
Prepare to embrace the ministry of the Psalmist, Praise and Worship Leader, Vocalist, Minister of Music, and Modern-Day Levite Curtis "Busta" Brown as his profound ministry takes the world by storm. Once you've experienced it, your life will never be the same!
For God has given him a NEW song, and to our God he will give praise. Psalms 40:3.
