With four albums under their sleeve, including the classic Lost The Spirit To Rock & Roll, Sneeze will be recording album number five over the next few months and due for release early 2010. Sneeze were formed by Nic Dalton and Tom Morgan in 1990 or 1991 just before they went on to form their other bands Smudge and Godstar and their involvement with Boston's Lemonheads. Tom and Nic wrote 41 songs (all under two minutes) between 1990 and the beginning of 1992 and released 20 of them on the double gatefold seven inch album Sneeze in 1993. Two years later a cd version (nicknamed 41 Songs In 47 Minutes) was released with the 21 remaining songs. In 1996 they decided to do something completely different and released a 12 inch 18 minute song called 'The Four Seezons'. Around this time, Lara 'Stix' Meyerratken suggested they play live and that she should get behind the drumkit. So Sneeze started playing live in the mid-90s. New songs appeared and a 50 track followup to 41 Songs In 47 Minutes commenced. Realising they had a swag of cruisy soul tunes, they decided to can the 50 track idea and put together an album of the soul stuff. Lost The Spirit To Rock & Roll began in 1998 and came out in 2001. By this time, Lara had left and was replaced firstly by Rusty Hopkinson and then drummer-to-this-day Simon Gibson. Bill Gibson joined on the bass around this time too. A tour of Europe/UK in 2003 was a highlight and that's where Tom met his wife, Leticia, who joined Sneeze ..boards. When Sneeze returned they started recording the album Just The Blues Sped Up which came out in 2004. Cameron Bruce played keyboards on the album and occasionally on stage too.
Sneeze plan to followup the original 41-tracker with a new bunch of short tunes (50 or more!), out sometime in 2009. In the meantime, who knows when they'll play next.
