Deflagration emerged from Findlay, OH around 1996 as a result of 4 childhood friends' relentless love of all things heavy and metal. After years and years of playing cover songs and gigging endlessly in an effort to hone their own musical skills, the band sharpened their creative utensils and in 2002 released their debut album "The Pain You Can't Forget". Self-described as "dirty heavy metal swagger", the band likes their metal to move, feel raw and honest, and be soaked in a mixture of gasoline and groove. Following the release of "Pain", the band received much praise for their efforts, but then went on a long stint of lineup changes and personal and collective catastrophe's. After picking themselves up and dusting off, original members Beau VanBibber (rhythm guitar, vocals) and Tony Ritzler (drums, backing vocals) decided it was time to up the stakes and push themselves to the next level. Eric Mendoza (bass guitar) and Skot King (lead guitar) came onboard and joined the family, giving the band a whole new attitude and wider arsenal of musical weapons to use. With a new lineup set in stone, the band went into the studio in early 2008 and came out with their new full length, full blown heavy metal statement, "A Call To Arms". The new record shows the bands' maturity and willingness to grow within their songwriting, yet fully retaining the power and hard edge that defines them.
With a new album out, Deflagration is launching a large effort to push and promote as well as gig wherever they can to try and bring this music to as many ears as possible. The band prides itself on its' members positive attitude, professionalism, and integrity. Often overlooked in the music business, these have proven to be some of their greatest assets. They take this job very seriously, but their main goal is to just give fans everywhere some heavy metal enjoyment to their ears. We hope ya dig it.Deflagration2009
