We're coming up on the one year anniversary of Operation Cast Lead, where Israel attacked the Gaza Strip and murdered over 1,300 Palestinians. I refuse to remain silent about Israel's actions. Operation Cast Lead was not the first, and will certainly not be the last time that Israel murders innocent Palestinians. They have continuously violated international law, and have committed massive crimes against humanity. Refusing to acknowledge these violations of basic human rights and standing by silently as a group of ruthless thugs plays games with peoples lives is just as unacceptable as the acts that Israel is committing.
These are innocent people, who are being murdered wholesale. If they aren't murdered they are treated like shit, they're second class citizens, they're harassed on a daily basis, their homes are destroyed, their land confiscated, and they are thrown out of the places that their families have occupied for centuries. I implore everyone to open their eyes and see the reality of the world around you. This is about more than politics. This is about more than religion. This is about innocent people, having their lives stripped from them because of their ethnicity. This is apartheid, this is genocide, and this isn't alright.
