Living life, finding out about myself and my surroundings, trying to find something positive out of every situation, and being pushed to my limits.
I also enjoy most things outdoors, snowboarding is the best and such a peaceful release, wakeboarding is fun too even though I kind of suck, running keeps the weight off and my mind at ease, and camping rules because I get to get dirty. I also like going to punk shows, especially when they are at little shitty dives (although at this time I am unable to control my Red Bull intake so I usually feel really cracked out in the morning), movies, museums (I love hands-on science museums that are for kids, but for myself), art shows - I love all kinds of art, road trips are fun too especially when everyone gets delirious. I love trying new things even though I'm usually scared at first, and meeting honest real people who are down to earth helps to keep me connected. My kitties (Oscar and Mama) are my babies and Gizmo and Ollie (RIP) are up with my parents in SB, and of course I love BOYS...I mean MEN...I mean boys..whatever. I love eating acai bowls at any given time of the day, drinking coffee or soy lattes, dancing around my house in my underwear, skateboarding or riding bikes around Leucadia, and recently Ive been boogie boarding like I used to do when I was five. It's really fun and so much easier than surfing and also makes me feel like a kid again. Dorky huh?
Oh and did I mention Mex?? Yep, love it.
I'd like to meet:
Old Friends. New Friends.
People who make me laugh. People making a difference. People I can learn from. I would also like to meet fun, outgoing, intelligent, passionate, inspiring, and down to earth people who are true to themselves and the people they surround themselves with, and who are into the same shit that I am into. I am not looking to meet kooks who just want to hook up, if thats what you are interested in, go fuck yourself!!
Randomly enough, I would also like to meet Russell Tupper from Huff...I am strangely intrigued by his witty yet childlike character and lack of self control...I think we could be great friends. Is that weird?
Oh, and Sawyer from LOST.
Music:
Music makes me happy.
I like The Hollowpoints too!
Old tunes. New tunes. And a whole lot in between. Mostly music with instruments, you know, and the bass is my favorite for sure. There is just so much good fucking music out there and I love finding out about new shit on a daily basis. Music is such a huge part of my life, as it can help carry me through every emotion. I mostly listen to punk, rock n roll, classic rock, metal, ska, rockabilly, bluegrass, folk, and anything acoustic...ahhh there is just so much. So what can I say except, fuckin-a, I love it all. Except for club music, I'm not much up for clubbin or the poppy whiney shit on mtv. Some of my favorites are (in no particular order): Bad Religion, The Lunachicks, The Sounds, ADHD, Discontent, The Clash, Joe Strummer, Glass Heroes, Guns N Roses, Misfits, Descendents, Guttermouth, LagWagon, RKL RKL RKL, Mad Caddies, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Devil Makes Three, Cranford Nix (thanks Kriegs), The Starvations, Agent Orange, Rancid, Op Ivy, the Muffs, Neckromantix, New York Dolls, Johnny Thunders, Minor Threat, Blondie, Joan Jett, NOFX, Supersuckers, Sublime, Old AFI, HIM, The Bronx, Hank III, US Bombs, The Hunns, Duane Peters Gunfight, Throw Rag, Charley Horse, Tiger Army, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Pennywise, The Pogues, Shane MacGowan, The Stitches, Smut Peddlers, The Bodies, The Hollowpoints, Real McKenzie's, Old Bullets and Octane, The Specials, Black Flag, Swingin' Utters, X, Hit by a Semi, RHCP, Rubberneck, Cadillac Tramps, Face to Face, Propagandhi, Social D, Mike Ness, Johnny Cash, Lars (my son) Frederiksen, Flogging Molly, Fear, Minor Threat, Roger Miret, Motley Crue, Distillers, The Cure, Dead Kennedys, Ill Repute, and Lewee Regal and The Regals pretty much rule...These are always good too: Blind Melon, The Stones, Tom Petty, The Band, Bob Dylan, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John, Creedence, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zep, Shit!!! ...This list could seriously go on forever....
Old Crow Medicine Show
Movies:
300, Blood Diamond, and Babel. Period. Sicko. Becoming Jane (I thought it was going to be kinda gay, but I actually liked it), Freeway with Reese Witherspoon is one of my all time favorites (I think I fell in love with her in this movie). Anything with Edward Norton or Johnny Depp. Westway to the World! tells a great story, Apocalypse Now, The First Few Nightmare on Elm Street's, Where the Buffalo Roam, Walk the Line, Blow, Life as a House, Garden State, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Reservoir Dogs, American History X, Drugstore Cowboy, the Departed, The Last Samurai, Sixteen Candles (classic!), The Breakfast Club, The Sweetest Thing (the best hangin' with the chicks hung over movie ever), Wild at Heart, True Romance, Saved, Sid and Nancy, Hotel Rwanda, Finding Neverland, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pretty in Pink, Scarface, Casino, Clean: Hollywood, The Notebook (sad I know, but I love it), Lucky # Slevin, The Forgotten, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and pretty much anything with sex, drugs and or rock n roll I will find interesting.
Oh yeah, for some shits and giggles check out the movie Sick with Bob Flannagan and Sheree Rose. It will blow your mind and it really is Sick!
Television:
Barely enough time to watch TV. Besides, there's nothing good on anyway, except HBO. I am in Love with HBO On Demand. ENTOURAGE is the shit and I could sit there for hours and watch episodes over and over again, John From Cincinnati was pretty good so I guess I'm a little bummed that it was canceled, and Sex and the City reruns are just what a girl needs from time to time. Oh yeah, LOST is pretty much the only show that I watch regularly on cable. It's confusing as hell now but its been addicting from the beginning for me, and Sawyer is hot as FUCK so that always helps too. Gotta love a sweaty country boy with an attitude!
Books:
Dharma Punx. The Way of the Peaceful Warrior. I love reading about peoples lives, people that you can learn from, people with drug problems, and sometimes love stories too. Heavier than Heaven is an awesome book as well as The Dirt. --Speaking of, I really want to read The Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx so that might be my next book. The Alchemist. Siddhartha. I am currently reading textbooks which are consisting of the topics of Human Sexuality and Algebra. I really cant believe I'm still in Algebra, it's haunting me. I guess I truly have not progressed since high school. HA!
Heroes:
My parents, family and friends, especially those with children who are raising them right (les and b). My newest heroes are Kari and Chris, and lil NoNo for taking his first steps. I am also super thankful and grateful to ALL the peeps giving me guidance and inspiring me to actually live this life, all while remembering every single moment.
