East Rodeo is experimental and hybrid band founded by Alen Sinkauz (bass), Nenad Sinkauz (guitar, voice) and Kole Laca (keyboards) in Padua in 2002. In December 2003, the band recorded its first album Kolo (with Marco Quarantotto on drums). The result was psycho - jazz - balcan music of ever changing form and structure by means of improvisation based on a myriad of different music genres which mirrors the different cultural and musical influences of the band. Kolo was broadcasted alive on RAI 3 and is well known in italian, slovenian and croatian underground scene. In april 2007 Marco Quarantotto and Kole Laca left the band. In th same year two nice musicians replaced them: Federico Scettri (drums), Alfonso Santimone (keyboards and live electronics).
Currently, the band is working on the new material. All the compositions were recorded in the Partyzan studio (january 17th, 18th 2008) in Pula (Croatia).
Being performers and musicians, Alen, Neno and Kole started their co-operation in 2002 with experimental musical theatre TAM teatromusica from Padua. In a co-operation with TAM teatromusica and stage-manager Michele Sambin, the band has realized more than ten theatre productions and performances: Gioventu' infiammabile, Segni nel tempo, Da solo a molti, Sa fosse stato la on son stato io me, Stupor mundi, Musica senza strumentisti, Segni e suoni, Controven(e)to, Antonio un nome senza santo, Deforma, Guantanamondo, Tutto e' vivo…
The band performed at a number of important festivals along with some of the most renowed contemporary artists: Sherwood Festival(Padova, Italy), Trn Fest (Ljubljana, Slovenia), Explosive! 2002-'03 (Bremen, Germany), Kulturetage (Oldenburg, Germany), Istra Etno Jazz Festival w. John Zorn's masada (Pula, Croatia), Ortigia Theatre Festival w. Dario Fo (Siracusa, Italy), Milanocontemporanea Art Festival (Milano, Italy), Monteccio Rock Festival (Montecchio, Italy), PUF Theatre Festival (Pula, Croatia), Milano Film Festival (Milano, Italy), Pula film festival (Pula, Croatia), Arezzo Wave Love Festival (Arezzo, Italy), Audio Art Festival (Krakow, Poland) ...along with a great number of club shows around Italy, France, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia and Austria.
In december 2007 the 2. Polis Adriatic Europe Festival (Pula, Croatia) presented a site specific multimedial performance Brodship under the art direction of Alen and Nenad Sinkauz . East rodeo composed and played music for documentaries and short films.
