Jonah's Road

Sydney based band, Jonah..s Road, has developed a significant following in the Australian musicscene over the past few years. The contemporary sound is a feature gaining them many new fans and therespect of their peers thanks to fantastic live shows, tight vocal harmonies and great songwriting.

The highly anticipated new album, Counting Down The Days, was released in January 2007 and isexpected to repeat the success of the band..s multi-award winning first album Hold On. Jay, John &Rodney spent most of 2006 writing and recording the album. It was recorded and co-produced by MattFell at Love Hz studios and mixed by Robbie Specogna at Main Street Studios. The result is a collectionof upbeat songs and soaring ballads highlighting the harmony-driven, country-pop sound for which theband is becoming well known. The first radio single is the title track Counting Down The Days which is anupbeat song written by Jay & Jasper Somerville-Collie in collaboration with Travis List.

Jonah..s Road commenced 2007 with the news that the track Why Does She Love Me won Song Of TheYear in the inaugural ICE Awards and won Best Group at the People..s Choice Awards. Recent awardnominations include finalists in the TIARAs for Best Group and Finalists in the Victorian & National awardsfor Best Group and Best Independent Release.

In addition to writing and recording the new album in 2006, Jay, John and Rodney had a busy 12 monthsperforming at major festivals all over the country and taking a trip to Nashville where their contemporarysound was well received. They established great contacts and introduced some key industry players tothe music of Jonah's Road.

The debut album Hold On was released in September 2004 and received great feedback from fans, musicindustry personnel and the media. The release of the album led to several awards and host ofnominations for the band: .. Won the Best Country Album in the 2006 US based Independent Music Awards for their debutalbum Hold On. .. Won Best Group in the 2006 TIARAs (Tamworth Independent Artists Recognition Awards). .. Winners of the Best Independent Release at the Victorian & National Country Music Awards inFeb 2005, where they also had Top 5 finalist nominations for Best New Talent and Song of the Year. .. At Tamworth in 2005 they were nominated for 2 Golden Guitar Awards for Best New Talent andBest Vocal Group/ Duo, a TIARA for Best Group/ Duo and a Top 10 Golden Guitar nomination for BestAlbum. .. In addition to their success at Musicoz in 2003 (won Mark Holden Producer Prize), Jonah..sRoad was named in the Top 5 for the Country category in the 2004 Musicoz Awards and was named asfinalists in the Pop category in the 2005 Musicoz Awards. .. The writers of the first Jonah..s Road single, Getting By Without You (Jay Collie, John Kater &Jasper Somerville-Collie) were also nominated in the Top 12 of the Country section of the InternationalSongwriting Competition in 2004 and in the Semi-Finals in 2006 for the song Giddy Up. .. Jonah..s Road was nominated as finalists in the 2005 Telstra Southern Stars AustralianIndependent Country Music Awards for Single of the Year and Album of the Year and were nominated in2006 for Best Group.

In both their recordings and live shows, Jay, John & Rodney showcase the harmony-driven, country-popsound for which Jonah's Road is fast becoming known. Their festival appearances in particular have seenthem develop a big fan base which has been strengthened by the radio singles all doing well in thecountry music airplay charts.

The singles have also been added to mass distribution services such as Satellite Music Australia, QantasInflight radio and AIR (radio on Foxtel). In addition, a translated cover version of Getting By Without Youwas recorded by Slovakian Pop Idol Superstar Martin Kelescenyi and has been released by Sony/BMG inEurope.

Jonah..s Road has developed a reputation for fantastic live shows and their appearances at the Deni UteMuster and Mud Bulls and Music festival in 2006, Gympie Muster in 2004 and 2005, Whittlesea CMfestival in 2006, the Central Coast CM Festival in 2005 & 2006 and the Tamworth festival in 2003, 2004,2005, 2006 & 2007 have gained them many fans from around the country.
