I do my best to be responsible, live in a sustainable manner, and reduce my footprint on the Earth, and give Mother Earth the respect she deserves.I tend to really geek out researching Organic Gardening Techniques and volunteer at a local Organic Garden. I also find myself continuously researching and documenting Environmental and Green issues. I am very interested in Permaculture, Sustainable Architecture, geodesic domes and the like, and all that goes into physically creating an environmentally friendly homeSometimes I feel the need to reach out and share something I have come across online. I am also interested in having animals that provide anything from organic fertilizer and insect control, to wool and such. I am rather sure one day I’ll have some sort of farm like thing going on.I want to fabricate my own flute to play while walking or sitting around a campfire. I have the wood and have downloaded the instructions. I am always creating or designing something.I work hard at being joyful, grounded and centered. I believe myself to be educated, intelligent, and articulate. I feel that I am communicative, respectful, warm, caring, and loving. I’m giving to and of myself.I love doing all things outside especially hiking, backpacking and camping, and mountain biking. I enjoy vegetable gardening because I am communing with nature and to provide myself with fresh and organic foods. I like perusing Farmer’s Markets. I enjoy cooking and want to learn Artisan cooking and crafts such as creating hearty breads and wine. I like long walks with my dog, roller blading, kayaking (I’m halfway through building Chesapeake 18LT), canoing, motorcycling, and trips to NYC. I enjoy natural history museums and Cirque Du Soleil. I, with arm open arms, welcome the day with a cup of coffee outside while watching the sun rise and on occasion a Margarita while watching the sun set. I don’t do the club scene, but I like to go to a lounge once in a while and listen to live music and dance.I like to think of myself as worldly, not so much based on travel, but rather as believing that all others are my neighbors. There is so much to be re-learned by indigenousness and foreign cultures. We have truly forgotten our roots as supposedly civilized humans and the work involved in having healthy lifestyles. We have also forgotten how to interact. What ever happened to “It takes a village†or acknowledging passing another person with a “Helloâ€? I am Canadian and have lived here most of my life. I have traveled to Germany, England, and the Caribbean (I’m not counting Tijuana). I intend to travel a bit more as it will assist me in understanding not only people but also their connection to the land. Europe interests me a lot. Europeans for a while now have been living within a Socialist political structure and practice sustainable living. Though Socialism interests me, many other cultures can compliment and expand upon this by adding their own social and agricultural expertise.A few years ago I decided to travel inside using Yoga and meditation as my guide. I have found my true self and am learning from this friend daily. I also realized an unexpected most pleasant side effect. The deeper I delve inside myself the closer everyone and all becomes to me. Some of my friends have jokingly commented to me that I am living in my own world, but in my world I have far less ego, stress, competition, fear, self judgment, greed, and suffering. In turn, it is full of perspective, courage, compassion, patience, and love. I joyfully look forward to further spiritual growth and realize that this exact moment in time is the only thing I truly have control over. This is a life long journey. For the most part, the women I’ve met and loved in the past had been on a different path and their journey differed greatly from mine. When I was younger it was my path that didn’t match theirs; I didn’t really know what it was or who I was. The same went for them. Later in life when I realized what their gentle loving hints were alluding to, I took myself on, conquered my fears, and embraced my true nature and began to discover my true “selfâ€. This journey and daily practice continues. I thank each of them daily for their love, insight, and wisdom. Though hearts were broken on both sides, it was part of the process. Namaste. At this time I am trying to get into schools that offer something in the realm of a degree in Permaculture (Low Impact and Sustainable Living). I believe I am destined to share my knowledge and interest in this most important field so that I can not only reduce “my†impact upon Mother Earth, but also guide others to do the same. My background is in Technical Writing (Manufacturing and Process Engineering) as well as a Home Improvement Contractor (former business owner). With my background and my current interests, it just makes sense and I feel things are continuing to fall into place.
