Matts love for all things house and techno came from his time spent working in Ibiza, it was only when he returned to England that he properly got into DJing and soon found himself with a residency at Manchesters 'House Chaos' where he joined a partnership with brad Mercer under the name of Phono. In 2006 Matt and Brad set up a night togther in Manchester's Music Box called 'Audio Boutique' to showcase there musical style, inviting a wide range of guest like Luke solomon, Geddes, Freeform Five and Slam to name a few, the night ended when matt moved to Leeds in 2007. After spending a futher summer in Ibiza and spinning at various villa parties, he returned home, inspired with what he had seen. Matt and a group of 4 friends created 'mono_cult' a colourful Sunday daytime party in Leeds, taking in a variety of differnet and unique venues that hosted act's and DJs; Exercise one,Damain Shwartz & tadeo, Jay Haze,Rhadoo adn Johnny d. The buzz about mono_cult also spread across to Ibiza where Matt and the crew held a weekley residency at Space for Carl Cox's night, hosting the El salon where they played alongside Laurent Gaurnier and Josh Wink during the summer of 07. 2008 saw a new residency for leeds afterhours, Soapbox, whilst mono_cult had highlights including an amazing Sonar Party at La Terrazza in Barcelona. His current style incorporates everything from house, techno, and disco a sound which has been formed whilst he has been working for Ralph Lawson's 2020vision label over the past year.
