Rock for Research

Rock for Research is a campaign which sets out to use local musical talent in and around Weston-super-Mare to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Every year a mix of Weston’s best local bands will join forces to perform in aid of this great cause.
ROCK FOR RESEARCH 2006: Rock for Research’s first gig, held at Hobbits nightclub, raised £772.90!! The bands that rocked were: Rager, Incense for the Damned, French Henry, Fallen Child, The Sketch and Devious Phat. It was sell out event and great time was had by all.
ROCK FOR RESEARCH 2007: Gig number two, held on 23rd December, was also awesome. This years event was hosted by funny man Gret Teef. The wonderful bands that graced the stage were Rager, Skulfuct, Sick Party Hijinks, Fallen Child, 95% Cotton, Shoot the Moon and Songs for Friends. These bands and the wonderful support that they brought along raised £502 for Cancer Research.
ROCK FOR RESEARCH 2008: This year’s rock for research will be held at Hobbits Nightclub (W-s-M) on the 4th of September. This line up includes Fallen Child, Infatuated, 95% cotton and Lemon Venom. See you there!
So thanks to all the lovely people that make up Rock for Research - the bands, the supporters, the helpers - £1274.90 has been sent off to help fight the cause.
