Band Members: Endorsements: Ibanez guitars,DiMarzio pickups and D'Addario strings. Thanks to the following companies for their support: Tech 21 (preamps), Genz-Benz (speaker cabinets), Mesa-Boogie (speaker cabinets/speakers),BOSS effects processors and Kahler bridge systems...Kahlers are THE BEST! Lee Jackson's Metaltronix/Perfect Connection products are killer too...I've used Lee's stuff for almost 20 years. The Soldano SLO 100 is the ultimate rock amp.I proudly use gear by ALL of the aforementioned companies. For a detailed stage/studio set-up,please see my blog. Thank you. Please visit TIMELORD's MySpace site for more songs, band news, band photos and band information. A link to TIMELORD's MySpace site is in my "Top Friends" section. Rock Hard, Matt.
Years ago, Mike Varney at Shrapnel Records suggested adding some video guitar lessons to the first TimeLord CD. I did some experimenting which you can witness below. The playing turned out decent, but the lighting was poor. Therefore- my co-guitarist Aaron Richert and I will likely put some mpeg video lessons on the SECOND TimeLord album...or on our solo albums.Matt Rockin' Out...(in the dark)

od,Mercyful Fate,King Diamond,Candlemass,Agent Steel,Helstar,Sanctuary,Metal Church,Cacophony,Apocrypha,Racer X,Vicious Rumors, Slayer,Anthrax,Exodus. My band mates in TimeLord and I also like the following bands to varying degrees: Children of Bodom,Nevermore,Iced Earth,Blind Guardian,Demons & Wizards,Storm Warrior,Destiny's EndEnd,Pantera, Death Angel and Macabre. NON-METAL STYLES THAT MAY REAR THEIR UGLY HEADS IN THE FUTURE:classical music from various periods,New Orleans/Chicago Jazz, early prog-rock,bluegrass,ethnic music (Celtic,Japanese,Indian,Arabic, etc.) and modern television/film scores. MAIN COMPOSITIONAL INFLUENCES: Metallica,King Diamond/Mercyful Fate,Helloween,Coroner,Candlemass,Testament,Forbidden and Racer X/Cacophony/Vicious Rumors/Apocrypha for the dual-lead guitar runs.
FAVORITE NON-METAL ARTIST(S)/BAND(S): CCR,David Bowie,Fishbone,King's X and Spacehog. MY FAVORITE METAL ALBUMS: Metallica's "Master of Puppets" and King Diamond's "Abigail." CURRENT MOTTO: "Modern Heavy-Metal SUCKS!"
Sounds Like: The above influences...but with more weedle-deedle "squealie" notes...and alot of screaming. I try to combine the best elements of my favorite players individual styles with my own sense of phrasing and "touch." Ideally- I would love to have Paul Gilbert's technique,George Lynch's ferocity and the Euro melodicism, tone and "touch" of Schenker,Hoffmann and LaRocque. (Wishful thinking huh?) After 20+ years of playing I am about HALFWAY there!
