Ordained Elder, Lead Singer, Tenor, and Worship Leader are but a few of the many hats worn by Atlanta native Demetrius Banks. With more than 15 years of professional experience in the gospel music industry, Demetrius has truly been blessed to work with and minister on stage with many of the industry’s finest. To include; Pastor Hezekiah Walker, Dottie Peoples and the Peoples Choice Chorale, Rev. Gerald Thompson and the Hi Prayz Crusade Choir, the late Min. Dirk B. Chaney and the Chosen Aggregation, Atlanta’s Youth In Praise, and many more. Demetrius attended Morehouse College where he majored in Music Education. While there, he toured with the world renown Morehouse College Glee Club under the leadership of Dr. David Morrow and Mr. Harding Epps. He was also a member of the theatrical troupe, “The King Players”, and held a major role in the musical stage play “King” where he was best known for his soul stirring rendition of “Hold Back the Night”. He is currently attending the University of Maryland University College majoring in law, and plans on becoming an Attorney. Demetrius’ musical talents stem from his parents the Rev. Willie L. Banks and the Rev. Gloria Banks. Growing up, his mother was a choir director at the church where his father was Senior Pastor. His father was also the lead singer in the gospel group The Victory Stars, and was best known for their popular hits “He Works a Wonder” and “Walk With Me Lord”. For the past several years, Demetrius has lent his expertise in the gospel industry to such high profile events as the Stellar Gospel Music Awards. He also works extensively with Dreko Artist Management and Consulting and its owner and founder Andre D. Gates which has represented gospels top artists including; Dottie Peoples, Dorothy Norwood, Denetria Champ, Pastor Nancy Wilson and Lemmie Battles. Demetrius also serves the Word of God Faith Center Church in Decatur, Georgia as Worship Leader under the Bishopric of Bishop Aaron Jones, Jr. He is the proud father of Demetrius II, Laura Elizabeth, and Madison Angelique Banks.
